Living Stones was founded in 1999. It was organized to care for orphaned, abandoned and unwanted children by providing food, shelter, education, and health care and to facilitate local and international adoptions. Its continued operation is dependent on local and foreign donations.Living Stones was licensed by the Philippine government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in 2001. In the same year a three-year Certificate of Accreditation was granted by the Standards Bureau of DSWD in Manila. Living Stones accreditation with DSWD standards Bureau has been renewed until October 2010. Since 2002, Living Stones has facilitated the adoption of more than 30 babies abroad and has found homes for about the same number locally. Living Stones processes local adoptions through the local DSWD and foreign adoptions through the Inter-Country Adoption Board in Quezon City. Living Stones is usually home to 20 children at one time. We also provide financial assistance to a feeding program reaching more than 100 children in some of the most depressed communities in urban Davao. Those kids also participate in Bible studies with our teams.
